Special Labs for CSE Students:

Hands on practical exposure in Well-equipped laboratories for all engineering subjects. Along with AKTU syllabus, additional Labs for Android, Digital Image Processing, Embedded System and Robotics are established.

Finger Print, Face Recognition & Images Processing Workshop, Computer Vision & Artificial Intelligence based computing provides a secure, high-capacity, state of the art computer laboratory to continue support of biometrics standards and metrology program focusing on storage, computer cycles, networking, and environment. This project provides continual technology refresh and capacity expansion which is critical to keeping up with rapidly advancing biometric technologies and rapidly scaling biometric applications.

Electronics and Communication Engineering:

The Electronics & Communication Department covers two crucial fields that significantly affect the way we live today. The main objective is to prepare students with a good foundation so that they become effective system engineers. The department is well equipped with several state-of-the- art labs which cater to the syllabus extensively.

Department emphasizes technical skills that can be used to help design, develop, install, test and maintain communication systems. Besides the technology, it provides unique advantages for various activities in trade, banking, tour and travel, health, etc. to ensure higher productivity. The department has established Electronics Lab, Communication Lab, PCB & Electronic Workshop, Analog Integrated Circuit Lab, Digital Integrated Circuit Lab, Power Electronics Lab, CAD Lab and Microwave and Optical Communication Lab, Microprocessor Lab, DSP Lab. All Labs are well equipped with all modern electronics testing, measuring instruments and software’s as per the course requirement.

Special Labs for ECE Students:

We are engaged in research on architecture, design, and tools for embedded computing and communication systems. Our current interests include wireless sensor and actuator networks, low-power and power aware computing and networking, mobile and wireless computing. The Robotics Lab aims to work on research problems and innovative projects that extend the state of the art in robotics. The Centre has worked in multiple domains of robotics involving Multi-Robotic Systems, Mobile Robot Navigation and Planning, Force Control of Legged Vehicles, Robot Vision. The Lab is well equipped with Robot Platforms and Advanced Sensors.

Mechanical Engineering:

The Mechanical Engineering Department is one of the key strengths of the institute. It’s Faculty and the facilities provide all resources to keep students updated with the latest industrial trends.
The educational objectives of the department of Mechanical Engineering are to prepare graduates with a solid foundation in engineering, Science and Technology for a successful career in Mechanical Engineering. Prepare graduates to become effective collaborators / innovators in efforts to address social, technical and engineering challenges. The department aims to prepare graduates to engage in professional development through self-study, graduate and professional studies in engineering & business.

Mechanical Workshop:

Workshop technology is an extremely important practical subject for engineers opting for various manufacturing fields. A well laid out workshop comprising of Machine Shop, Welding, Black Smithy, Carpentry, Fitting and Sheet Metal Shop has been set up. Practical hand on training on all the above streams of Workshop Technology is imparted to the students by assigning different jobs. First year students of all branches undergo the above training in the workshop.

Special Labs for ME Students:

Apart from the prescribed labs in syllabus of AKTU Lucknow, KIOT, Kanpur focuses on various other labs & development centers which help to make students aware of the "Latest Corporate and Industry Trends &Technologies” Below is the list of such Labs & Workshops being run at KIOT, Kanpur.

The goals of the Laboratory are to provide the fundamental knowledge base for automotive engineering and to educate students to become technological leaders in the automotive industry. These goals are achieved through extensive research activities in the areas of internal combustion engines and fuels, fundamental fluid/thermal/combustion studies, and assessment of advanced propulsion and vehicle technologies, and especially their energy consumption and environmental impacts.

Civil Engineering:

Owing to tremendous growth in the infrastructure sector in India and abroad, the demand of Civil Engineers has been on rise. To fulfill the growing demand and to cater to the engineering needs of the nation , the institute offers B.Tech degree course in Civil Engineering which is four years engineering degree programme of AKTU, Lucknow.

The undergraduate programme provides rigorous analytical study along with realistic practical solutions. The latest surveying techniques with Total Station and Computer aided preparations of Survey maps, GPS, GIS and Remote Sensing are the important features of the curriculum. The teaching of structural analysis with CAD drawing and Design using latest software, along with instrumentation and field studies provide the all elements for producing a perfect Civil Engineer. The gain from practical experience from the field studies to building industries (real states), Bridges, Highways, Flyovers, Dams and Irrigation structure are top priorities of academic programme.
